Awful service. We have used Windowtech twice over an 8-year period, and on this occasion, I'm sorry to say it was absolutely terrible from placing the order to installation.
Booking the Order.
We asked Mike Southan (Owner) who came out to survey and quote. His sales tactics are questionable, the forceful methods he uses and pressure selling is concerning, and any future customers should be wary.
Windowtech were also very quick to try and fit these windows, even though we clearly explained on numerous phone calls, that we were carrying out major home improvements and windows were not be fitted until we were ready.
The installation completed.
After fitting, we raised a few problems which to their defence they rectified, but we still have a major issue which we highlighted repeatedly after 3 months of being installed. The window frame has dropped 10mm, making left side window unable to properly open. Windowtech came out to view this problem 4 times over a 12 month period, including Mike (Owner) who wrongly diagnosed the fault, and put the issue down to hinges, which in his words was normal. When we stated we were going to get a second opinion, Mike rushed to get this engineer to revisit making this No.4!!
His engineer then mentioned the frame had dropped and this was brought to Mike's attention some time ago!! Now you can only imagine the disgust we felt at this moment. Lied to at every turn!!!
Windowtech then started blaming the builder for replacing outside facias, stating this is their fault!! Even though we mentioned this window was defective 3 months after installation, and have emails to prove this. To make matters worse, the window frame can be adjusted easily his engineer stated, but Windowtech still refuse to come back to put right!
Price.
£17,600 cash spent and the service was abysmal. The money we spent should warrant any defects being honoured and rectified, especially within a short period of time 15 months.
Conclusion.
We are currently going through Certass who Windowtech registered their work under, to get some kind of resolve. We will see where this takes us. I can only advise you to avoid this company. The pressure selling, the after-care service, and finally cost is unacceptable. There’s Companies out there that deserve your money for providing a great service. Don’t give it to these cowboys.
